Diagnostic Scope & Indications

• Screening Mammography: Routine annual screening for asymptomatic women aged 40 and above to detect early-stage breast cancer.

• Diagnostic Mammography: Detailed evaluation of localized breast symptoms such as palpable lumps, focal breast pain, skin dimpling, or nipple discharge.

• Microcalcification Identification: Spotting tiny mineral deposits that represent the earliest indicators of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).

• Correlative Breast Ultrasound: Complementary high-resolution ultrasound imaging to differentiate between fluid-filled cysts and solid masses.

Preparation & Comfort Tips

Schedule your mammogram for the week following your menstrual period when breast tissue is least tender. On the day of examination, do not apply deodorants, antiperspirants, talcum powders, or lotions on your underarms or breast area, as these can mimic calcifications on digital images.
