Orthopantomogram (OPG) is a specialized panoramic dental X-ray that captures a continuous, wide-angle view of the upper and lower jaws, teeth, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and maxillary sinuses in a single comprehensive radiographic image.
Impacted Wisdom Teeth: Assessing the precise angulation, depth, and anatomical relationship of third molars to the inferior alveolar nerve.
Orthodontic Treatment Planning: Evaluating overall dentition alignment, jaw growth patterns, and missing or supernumerary teeth.
Periodontal Bone Loss: Visualizing generalized alveolar bone resorption and periodontal disease progression.
TMJ & Mandibular Pathology: Screening for temporomandibular joint condyle erosion, mandibular cysts, tumors, and facial bone fractures.
The scan is completely contactless and takes less than 30 seconds. Patients stand upright while the digital sensor rotates smoothly around the head. All metallic jewelry, earrings, dentures, and hairpins must be removed prior to the scan.
